I was driving along the Hougang Area when my friend and I spotted something on the road. We knew of its arrival 2s before it appear because the engines were rev-ing so loudly it could be heard from behind. There it is:

I decided to give it a chase, although my chances were slim. Luckily, there were cars in front of it.

We quickly took a shot at it while speeding across it..

Just some random sightings over the week to keep the blog going. HAHA.

A Mazda 3 Car that has a makeover. Actually I think it's quite nice with the stripes going down like that because it looks trendy and sporty and fast. Then again, it's only a Mazda 3 but good effort on the decals though, beats pasting those typical mugen or fire decals.

Nissan 370Z displayed outside Cathay House. Nissan was doing alot of roadshows and advertisements on this new model and it made me excited to want to find out how it looks like. Quite a disappointment though as the shape looks a little weird and ugly and i think the 350Z nicer. What do you guys think?

On a different note, I would like to kb and curse that god damn Subaru Impreza blue car who was speeding and horned me when I was trying to change lane yesterday. He caused me to miss my U-turn and he almost hit me cause I was already switching halfway. And so I sped up to see who the F**K he is. Turns out to be some typical chinese beng. I diao-ed him and he diao-ed me when we both stopped at the traffic light. F**k U la, whoever you are, act fierce with the impreza. @#%^&(&)&)(&(%. Wait till I get a faster car next time and u'll just rot and die. HA.

While reading my marketing textbook (Principles of Marketing) for the upcoming exams, I came across this example printed and it was on the topic of "Value based Pricing". Basically, the author's saying that Bentley had adopted value based pricing to attract their customers. Hence, the facts of the car model has brought much interest to me.

It's been sometime since I last posted anything. Oops!! Haha anyways on the topic of veyron, these are some of the pictures I took in Berlin at their authorized dealer. To see one in real person is nothing short of fascinating.

Anyways, the photo which has been circulating around in the car forums has attracted quite a few 'theories' about its existence in singapore.

1. Its photoshopped
2. Its heading to Malayan Motors who are the authorized dealer for Bugatti in Southeast Asia
3. Its transitting up north to our dear neighbours who just got their new PM!
4. Following Pointer 2, people are suggesting its Auto Kultur instead because it was not seen in MM itself.
5. Garage queen in one of the richie's rich.

Of all 5 possibilities, number 3 seems most likely to me =)

Just last night, our convoy group decided to meet up to chill and have supper. As we were finding places to chill and explore, Eugene suggested heading down to Sentosa Cove to show us the places which he saw the last time he was there for visiting.

Well, what can i say, there were several funny and "scary" ( with the security guards. haha) incidents that happened there but i guess it was still amazing exploring the houses there... anyone who goes there will just go " ZOMG." haha. Okay, so i took the chance to take some pictures for show:

The amazing long stretch of walkway which we all concluded was super ideal for a romantic date as you get to be "wow-ed" by the yachts and boats parked there with a beautiful scenery at the background.

Sometimes I cant help but wonder how these rich people earn their money because there were freaking lotsa boats/yachts/jet skis parked there! Haha. *envious

So yup, it's pretty amazing how the rich lives their lives sometimes because the design and living standards there are simply AMAZING. haha. Imagine having no proper gates at the entrance of the house and having a flight of stairs leading down from your garden down to the personnel yacht parking lot, and then you have a golf course, beach, clubhouse etc just 5 mins away from your house. WAHHHHHHHHH....

That's basically the fruitful convoy trip which we had.

AND OF COURSE Who can ever forget about "235" after last night manz. LOLX.

Just a few days ago while back in school, I was walking to take a shuttle bus when I came across this "Monster Car" at the nearby car park:

OMG it's a freaking BMW X6! Ok yes I know it's not a really big deal since it's probably only just a BMW and not any Lambo or Ferrari parked in school. However, the really cool thing that caught my attention was its HUGE size. It's uber big and definitely larger than the LEXUS RX-300 (something which i thought was already quite big and scary. haha).

What can I say, a V8 twin turbo charged engine running on the roads. Simply powerful. It's only a pity that such V8 engines would not be faster or comparable to other coupes since this car's super gigantic. HAHA.

If you refer to the current price list. the 3500cc is going close to about $300k and needless to say, the 4400cc is going at $350k or so. Well, if I'm not wrong, the picture which I took is the BMW X6 2007 Series, and there's the 2009 series out now......SIMPLY AWESOME! Check out your nearby BMW Dealer if you are interested manz. =)

Car Review 1: Lexus LS400

Well they all say that for every car brand, there's always that distinctive uniqueness that makes the particular brand stand out from the rest. For example, i do hear of people asociating brands like Ferrari with Sportiness, Volvo with Safety, Toyota with economical fuels, and of course Lexus with Quietness and Comfort etc. Whether if it's really true, I think it's pretty much subjective.

To make this blog more interesting, we will be featuring a particular car model review weekly on our blog, and the cars could range from the latest types all the way to back to the old school era, so let me begin this review with:

#1 LEXUS LS400 (Early 1990s - )

Well imagine that back in the early 1990s, you are driving out this 4.0L V8 engine monster out on the roads. Ok maybe monster isnt the word because the LS400 is well known for its powerful yet QUIET engines. Stories have been said out on the streets when it's difficult to even hear the engines rev-ing when you are seated inside the car, unless you wind down the window and let your ears outl. Haha.

As what my marketing prof. said in school that different people go for different wants and needs for products, i.e. some might pay for having quiet engines, while others pay more to get roaring engines because the louder it is, the "fiercer" it is on the roads. haas.

This is the commercial ad back then which made this car model famous :

Therefore, the LS400 is one classic car which existed in the 90s. =)

Merry Christmas to all of you peeps out there! Hope you all had a great time during the festive seasons. Well, there is a short break with our convoys these days because our moderator, Mark, got injured and out from driving for the time being. However, we will be back with more convoy updates really soon.

On a different note, let me share with you a tragic story I read from New Paper today:

For those who didnt buy the New Paper today, let me share with you a quoted summary of the accident:

" He was looking forward to returning home to India next month after working here for nearly 2 years. But Mr S Raja's dreams of a new life in his Tamil Nadu hometown were dashed in the most horrific way last night. The 22 year old Bachelor died after a Ferrari hit him along Clementi Road near the Japanese School. The impact of the crash flung him for several metres, witnesses said......The Colleague said Mr Raja was crossing the road with another colleague, Mr C Shanmunathan, 23, who speaks only Tamil. He said, " Shan dashed across the road but Raja took his time as the road appeared clear. Shan said the Ferrari appeared suddenly." - New Paper Report

Well, it's actually quite sad to know of such accidents, especially when the deceased is someone who is about to head back home to reunite with his family. It's also difficult to say who's in the wrong in this case. Could it be that the Ferrari was speeding so fast that he couldnt see the Indian man clearly in the night and thus couldnt brake in time? Or it could also be the indian man was jay walking in the first place, as it's unlikely any cars would stop in such non-traffic roads?

Hmmm....... I guess it could be both? Especially for the fact when the deceased's friend said that Raja took his time as the road appeared clear, but he failed to realise that a typical Ferrari can accelerate and rev so quickly that its hard to estimate the jaywalking time. Anyhow, it has already happened...

All i wanna say here is : DRIVE RESPONSIBLY, PEEPS! -_-

Just a random post here. This "decal" car caught my attention in campus when I was heading back to hall in the night after an evening quiz... I find it quite comical that the owner puts the "Initial D " tofu decals on his small car... (might have been a Initial D or TOFU lover..)... and IF i'm not wrong.. this car is a Kelissa... I don't think its any other expensive cars like the MINI or etc.... and the best is... he/she removed the car logo at the boot of the car.. and then replaced it at the side with a SPORTS metallic logo.... well the car is "SPORTY" indeeed... hopefully it can go pretty fast and the tofus put inside wouldnt be smashed up during delivery. hahas. im mean.

On the other hand.. the bunch of us are mugging hard for the exams now...so we'll be back with more updates after the papers! =)

hello... additional update from me... because i think 2 pictures like definitely not enough to express how we felt that night... ha let's the whole story.........................................................

We planned for our usual convoy as usual... 1145 at Gee's place to form up.. aka the FUP... and Mark was bloody LATE!! he came at 1230am!! We were thinking of getting him to treat us when he arrives... soon after... Sebastian arrived too... and when mark call me... he said Mr Johnny is behind him... i was like WHAT!! LAMBO???!! then he came... and out came Mr Johnny...

Took unlimited photos with the owning Lambo and we decided to head to Changi T3 becasue there are certain places whereby Lambo cant get there... like narrow roads.. high humps... etc... ha

He was kind and generous to treat us Popeye's for our welcome treat and share with us his life story... ha then we took a group photo at T3... which is the pics above... Next we head on to Kallang Mac for fun and again...we convoy again... this time with Lambo leading the way at 90km/hr... that's gear 3 for a lambo...

After which he has to go fetch his girlfriend from Zouk and off he go... 0-100km/hr in 3.6 secs... within 3 secs he was nowhere in sight and we could only smell burnt rubber... ha anyway.... that's our special guest appearance Mr Johnny on our car convoy on 31st Oct... Halloween Night... :)

The 2nd convoy trip was conducted yesterday yet again. As usual, we met up at Eugene's place where we then headed over to Geylang for Rochor Beancurd for a light supper. Thereafter, Eugene's friends , Sebastian and Ivan(2nd) met up with us to join in the YISHUN DAM convoy. haha. Our motto was " Tight Tight" ( which means every car will stick closely to each other so we wouldnt lose each other )

After supper, we convoyed down to KPE... and halfway through.. some unfortunate "cock" thing happened. Mark who was behind Ivan's car, was inching forward while waiting to make a turn. He was too engrossed looking at the other cars from another direction that his car accidentaly bumped onto Ivan's car back.. LOLX... I do not know whether to laugh or feel sorry cause the whole thing happened very randomly. hahas.

In the end, we stopped over to take a look at the damages:

Ivan's back on the other hand had a minor faint scratch

So after assessing the damages, we decided not to dampen our moods and proceeded down to Yishun Dam.

This time we had 5 cars, with the addition of Sebastian's Honda Fit (Modified Body Kit). Woo0t.

Yishun Dam was super crowded that day, and the no. of police patrols were many too.

The Famous Ice Cream Uncle who's always there to sell his ice cream and drinks. Smart* Maybe someone can consider providing toilet services there too. haha.

Seletar Country Club suddenly lighted up randomly, just to do their water sprinkling job on the grass. Waste of electricity.

All in all, it's still fun hanging out at Yishun Dam, chit chatting, enjoying the breeze and looking at Zhng-ed or aluxurious cars showing off there... woohoo~uthentic fast

Yesh.. the long overdue entry that should have been updated weeks ago..... THE SINGAPORE F1 GRAND PRIX@ MARINA BAY CIRCUIT 2008!! I got the preview tickets for friday... courtesy of Eugene and his family because his dad had extras... Well, what can i say about the whole event is that... I used to think F1 race was boring because the cars were going round the same bloody laps 60 times... and what's there to see when you don't see the cars drifting or performing any magnificant stunts... HAHA.. However, the F1 race trip kinda changed my perspective of F1 racing after all.... with all the crazy engines rev-ing at high speeds and the sharp bends and turns.... and it isnt as boring as I thought it would be! Accident at PIE/TPE Junction

Managed to catch the accident on my phone's camera despite the busy flow of traffic over at that area.. It is a brand new white Toyota Vios.. It was seen mounted on the pavement and the front is totally chui-ed. Believed to have knocked into a road sign or something.. The ques is.. how the hell can the driver be so blind/noob/cock/drunk to drive his or her (most prob) car straight up the damn bloody kerb?? Lol..

Yes, we'll back with a new update! We had our official car convoy after so long last night. This time, we started the night at Gee's place watching Man Utd vs Chelsea and also the tennis match between Nadal and Roddick... both matches were pretty interesting though i thought the tennis match was more worth watching because Nadal was really damn good at his skills and shots.

After which, we headed down to Rochor Tau Hway near Geylang for a short supper, before proceeding down to City Hall area.... The whole idea was to "test-drive" the F1 route.LOLX. Unfortunately, some parts of the tracks were closed for maintenance and road works.. so we could only take a drive on a portion of the tracks.

I guess one of the more fun parts of it was... we were at this stretch of road where it was straight n empty... n then we had that crazy thought or rev-ing up to "simulate" some fun.. n yesh.. we roared up to 5-6rpm.... whaahaz... damn fun.... n then on the narrower roads... we were convoying behind 3 auxillary police who were doing their rounds.. we then came to the tight bend which every1 was talking about.....( the sharp bend near esplanade) OMG... the turn's really tight n narrow... we cant help but wonder how the F1 drivers are able to turn at 90-100km/hr there ... hmmm. PRO.

Our next convoy plan was to head down to the new KPE! YESH sadly, that tunnel has the stupid low speed limit of 70km/hr (crawling) but for the fact it's a new tunnel, we decided to check it out too!

This bus's pretty amusing. The uncle seemed to be ramming his engines at gear2... coz it was roaring yet moving slowly.. No idea what he's up to.

All in all, the car convoy yesterday was by far the most enjoyable and productive.... guys! we should haf more of such trips! =)

Having read the preceding post, I would like to highlight something!!!

1. Its a ferrari club convoy up to Genting for an exhibition.
2. He was not part of the main convoy. Just planning to join the rest up in Genting.
3. It was raining.
4. Mercs was smart enough to create a jam sort of to make the ferrari difficult to speed off.
5. Ferrari was cutting to lane 2 and back lane 1 to overtake a car, but lost control
6. Car can still be repaired I guess. Engine mounted at the back, and only front part was too worse off.
7. After realising he was tio box, some of the convoy members can to bring them up to genting.
8. Mercs robbers dressed in police uniforms which might explain why the ferrari got caught up, which I dun really buy that.

OUCH. This is what happens when you drive an expensive car down to Malaysia and getting robbed by the locals there. Apparently last friday, the Singapore Ferrari and Maserati Car Convoy Club had their convoy trip down to Malaysia and halfway to Genting Highlands. One of the rear Ferrari car got attacked by the "local" cars, and while trying to shake the robbers off, the driver lost his control and crashed into the railings. Now that's not enough, they were physically attacked by the robbers and left with some minor injuries.

When I first heard this accident, 2 questions came to me in my mind, " Why the F**k did these people want to drive their luxury posh cars down at Malaysia, when there were already past reports saying that Singaporeans do get robbed by the locals there at expressways or deserted roads." Hmmm.... maybe it's because it wouldnt be as fun and interesting to drive in Singapore considering the frequent traffic jams and narrow roads that we have. However, one thing for certain is, I do trust Singapore's level of road safety and security.

The 2nd question was " How the hell did the robbers managed to chase down these FAST cars " ( that's before realising that the robbers used a Mercedes car to do their robbing. LOLX) WOW. Now I see that robbers these days are getting more street smart ;fancy getting a faster car to chase the FAST cars. HAHA.... Well done.

Oh wells, in some way or another, I do not pity the couple that were robbed. It felt like they deserved it, simply because they would have known the possible risks and danger of doing such convoys, but yet they decided to ignore the concerns and go ahead with it. I PITY the Ferrari car though, because it's all innocently smashed up.

Maybe these posh cars convoy clubs could consider hiring security cars to patrol alongside with them for future car convoys? HAHA... that would be uber cool manz. =)

We apologise for the hiatus in updates on our blog due to the lack of time and for the fact that we haven had a proper "car convoy" trip these days. I shan't be featuring any new photos of any new discoveries or cars, but rather to take the chance to explain who we really are as a group. Just yesterday, one of my seniors from hall asked me about this blog and thought we(4 of us) were doing some online business or selling something.

Well the answer is NO. Well, we are basically just 4 ordinary undergraduates who have a liking for cars in general and this blog was initiated by our moderator - Mark, who thinks that it would be interesting to share pictures and stories of motor vehicles that we can see in our daily lives and talk about it. Thus, this blog was set up in the hope of sharing what we see and hear from outside (relating to cars) and then featuring it here for people to see and go "ga-ga" over the luxurious cars. Haha. No, we are not a bunch of profit making people trying to sell something but if anyone of you guys out there wish to post your advertisement on our blog, feel free to contact us through our tagboard and we'll get back to you. The Automatic-Parking Car Park

Yes! Back with more updates... haha

Just today, I met up with my elder sister at Club Street after work because she happened to be around the area after a Foot Reflexlogy session and I decided to take a lift from her back home. She then told me that she had parked her car at the Multi-storey Automatic Carparking Car Park nearby:

The 1st time when she mentioned to me about the existence of such car parks, I thought the idea was way too cool! I mean, we all do hear about such car parks existing in other countries but I never knew I would be using one locally, Haha. Therefore, I was pretty excited and intrigued to know how this whole system works.

Well basically, what happens is that the driver would have to drive into the individual car lifts, align the car properly with the markings on the lift (with the help of a computer screen to guide you through the parking), lock your car and then shutting the lift after entering a 4-digit car-collection password into a computer screen on the outside. With that, the lift would then drive into a destinated empty slot in the carpark and park the car properly for you.

(No this is not my car. haha)

How interesting isnt it? Haha I bet not all of you guys out there have tried using this new parking system huh?

Then again, I do think there are Pros and Cons of having such a system. Here goes:

Pros:

1. With the limited space in Singapore, it's good to have such a parking system to cut down on the amount of land used for parking vehicles.

2. IF the system is PERFECT, the time taken to park a car would be pretty short, and drivers need not fret waiting and having to park his/her car into an empty slot.

3. The security and safety of your vehicle is pretty much assured, since only authorised personals are allowed into the parking space, which means to say you wouldnt have to worry if your Lambo or even your CherryQQ would get any snatches/possible dents from other drivers' doings.

Cons:

1. As I have mentioned earlier, the good part of it comes only if the system's perfect. The truth is, the system screwed up while trying to retrieve my sister's car for instance. Upon entering the password, the lift is unable to deliver the car down due to some unforeseen technical faults and thus, it required some manual overriding and technicans to repair the faults on the spot. Then again, we kinda waited for about an additional of 5-10mins for the fault to be rectified.

2. When i said the car has to be park according to the alignments on the lift, I really meant FOLLOWING ACCORDINGLY, because if the car's in a awkward position deemed by the computer system, it would keep prompting you to make adjustments to the left or to the right. This means that if there's going to be an idiotic lousy driver who doesnt know how to park properly, it would take a damn long time for the subsequent drivers to wait for their turn since there are only 3 working lifts to handle entering and leaving vehicles. Yes, the lift's pretty strict with the alignment because if you park wrongly, it might not allow the lift to function or park your car properly.

3. With the intention and objective of saving space met, there's 1 thing which I think have been overlooked, and that is the overheads for keeping this operation working. Firstly, the amount spent on building this whole computerised car park. Okay, let's assume that the car park itself is a sunk fixed cost, what about the maintenance,repair as well as the salaries of the technicans on standby? Technicans have to be on standby 24/7 to address or solve any possible cock-ups along the way. Now think about the amount of money that can be saved IF this car park was transformed into a manual normal multi-storey car parking system. Yes, the Cashcard deduction could still apply to save the agony of tearing Carpark coupons, but now drivers could park their vehicles themselves without needing any help from anyone.

It doesnt take a genius to do the the financial calculations on the possible cost savings, and when you do, you began to wonder why these money have to be spent on maintanence, and then the next thing you might be asking yourself is : Where is all this money coming from? HMMMMMMM........ *wonders

Well well, the truth is, I'm pretty proud of the advance technology that we're using now, but is it really necessary? It's all up to you to judge.

On a happier note, you could always drive down and try it yourself yeah! Till then. =)

The Most Expensive Cab in Town??

When I visited Timbre @ the Arts House for the first time last friday, it wasnt the O.Ls over there that caught my eyes. Instead, parked near the pub was a 2-car long Damien Chrysler Limousine, just outside Victoria Concert Hall.

And to my surprise, it was actually a CAB/TAXI, for hiring at a whopping price of S$300 for 2 hours! Faint* But one thing's for sure.. it doesnt have to meet the maximum-of-4-passengers-in-a-cab restriction.. =)

Oil Prices

The world's going crazy recently, we have natural disasters destroying countries and disrupting people's lives, we have global political issues to tackle, slow economic growths etc. Then again, one of our concerns over here is the RISE IN OIL PRICES. So what does that mean now? Well it now means everytime you wanna show off on the roads by stepping more of the accelerator pedal, you hafta think twice now.

The Oil Prices now are insane. Back then, probably a year ago or more, only the richer people would bother spending more (probably like $2/litre) to pump better oil types like V-Power to keep their fast cars going, now a typical 98 petrol actually cost more than $2. Well done. This "Oil prices crisis" i call it, is bothering every driver in the world.

I remember months back when I was still schooling for semester2, my Econs Prof. did make a passing comment that the rise in Oil Prices now is not really because the Middle East are LACKING of Oil, but rather because of the downturn of the US Economy and somehow it affects the oil prices and etc. I couldnt really recall the exact reasons by now and I didnt really understood everything that was explained over the local newspapers published last week. Haha. So I tried to wiki and google over it, but different sites give different explanations and i guess it's better to read it from the newspapers yourselves instead.

Oh well, it just serves as a friendly reminder for everyone to go easy on stepping the accelerator, and yes, if possible CRUISE more on the roads to save petrol! hahaahaz. Then again, it's not going to stop me from driving. To hell with public transport cause nothing beats having your own private transport as and when you need it. Aint it so? (Unless you do not have a choice taking public transport. then LL for you)

Car Convoy 3

This is our Car Convoy 3 and this time round, we are focusing on the moving off part. As you can see, we did the very obvious by gathering at Mr NDU's place and it shows our tardedness in moving off. It took us quite some time to get moving and me being able to take so many shots while they are moving is a strong testament to it.

Chanced upon a white turbo kitted Cayenne and nice colour matching plate to go along with it =)

And subsequently, aplenty of Lambos around lol lazy to describe la! And who says you need to book town to see Lambos? lol

Hell: Endo or Exo?

Came across a very interesting read...

Question: Is Hell Endothermic or Exothermic?

Answer:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.

Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

Car Convoy 2

Woot, this took really sometime to upload haah Anyway we had our Convoy Part 2 previous week and we had lots of photos taken and these uploaded ones are just the few of the many we had. We took the photos outside the prestigious Crystal Mansions and it was not easy as there are guards outside chasing us away. However, we told them we need the architecture as our backdrop and they reluctantly agreed. Thanks !

This time round, I brought a digital cam for it but nothing surprise, it didnt work well in the night..I DON'T KNOW WHY!

Manual Car Driver

i'm the only manual car driver out of the 4 of us... cars been too automated that people hardly see manual cars on the road anymore. But i have been driving manual cars ever since i got my license and its auto cars that i fear driving. Feels kinda weird when your left leg has got nothing to step on. Thus, i tend to step on the ground too much and end up being more tiring then driving a manual car... Here are the manual cars that i have access to at home now. :)

Hi.. I'm Eugene. One of the big 4 here.. =)

Since this is a blog about cars.. I guess as a way of introducing myself.. I should let you all the dream cars that I would dearly love to own one in my lifetime =)

*In accordance of how realistic my chances are of having them in this lifetime of mine..

1. Renault F1 R28 (2008 model)

Chances of owning one (0%).

Reason: Its simply not about the issue of how much $$ it cost or you can afford.

2. Bugatti Veyron (the world's fastest street-legal car)

Chances of owning one (0.2%)

Reason: 1. Someone must be allowed to import it into Singapore.
2. It costs a whopping $1.4M. Topping it up with road tax and import fees, approx. $2M,
which means this 0.2% only represent the chances of me striking rich in TOTO or 4D.

3. Audi R8 (IRONMAN drove it!!)

Chances of owning it (10%)

Reason: 1. At least there are already a few on the roads in S'pore. I'll be satisfied even if its a 2nd
hand. =)
2. This 10% represents the chance of me working SUPER hard in my life and finally
getting one and managing to drive it before I get too old to be able to..

4. BMW 5-series

Chances of owning one (30%)

Reason: Just get a good job, work hard, save up, dun anyhow spend on girls or club, should be
able to get one, could make use of pension fund as a last resort (if by then still can't
afford that is..)

Manual cars

Despite having a Manual Car License for more than a year now, I have been driving Auto Cars ever since i got my license during my NS days. I didnt have a choice since my family's cars are all auto partly because my parents preferred its practicality and convenience. Haha. It is no doubt true that Auto Cars are in fact more " practical" these days, especially in Singapore where roads are congested and there are bound to be traffic jams and manual cars would be tiring and annoying to be driven. Then again, I've always wanted to own a manual car as I think it's fun engaging the gear to control the car's speed. (Looks more "Seh" rather than just stepping on brakes and accelerator)

So after I got my license, the subsequent time i got the chance to drive a manual vehicle was when I was working Part Time in an Architecture Model Firm, where my colleague and I did occasional deliveries to companies for their building models and my ex-colleague, Bruce, actually allowed me to take over the wheel! (without my boss's permission of course). It was fun, especially driving a mini van for the 1st time and it was also a continental vehicle, which means that the controls were of the opposite from typical asian cars! Thankfully, though it was a little bit bumpy initially, I didnt stall the engine once! =)

So just this week, i got the chance to test drive Ivan's manual Car after not touching a manual vehicle for almost a year! Wow. How chui it was when I didnt even know how to get the vehicle moving and reversing... lolz. And then i did another "refresher" course with Ivan again back in my hall few days later... oh boy.. it was fun yet abit daunting to be driving a manual car again.

And then i thought of this amusing picture of my ex-boss's car..... Look at how "fierce" his driving style can be:

As you can see, the labels for the gear engagements are lost from the gear shift... and its pretty amusing because it always dropped off whenever we tried to put back the single piece back into place, and I guess it remained like that , ever since i took over the wheel that day and while engaging the gear too quickly, the piece just flew off permanently, lying somewhere hidden in the vehicle, which i doubt anyone managed to find it. LOLZ.

Well Well, U probably might haf seen lotsa "zhng-ed" cars out on the local roads and streets, and the most common kind would be people adding in car spoiler, new body kit, recaro seats, bigger exhaust valves etc... but to think about it, it does costs a bomb if you really wanna make it a dream car.... so how?

Fear not, some people out there have provided some cheaper "alternatives" to zhng your car, although it does not have a 100% resemblance to the original kits.. but who cares... you save up more cash than those ah bengs or car lovers! Here goes:

1. Car Spoiler

Adding a card-board-like material spoiler to your car, looks pretty much like the original from afar and should be able to hold into place if you are driving on 3rd gear, before the material flies off while speeding.

2. Sports "Fins"

In fact, I've never understand why people would add that fin-like thingy on top of cars, probably to make the car look fiercer and for aerodynamics purposes, i.e. to allow a streamline wind flow on the car when it's travelling at high speeds, but yup, apparently rubber stoppers do the trick too i guess? You can get them from local provision shops not costing more than $10.

3. New Body Kit

It seems most zhng-ed Body Kits make the car look "lower" so that it would look more sporty and impressive, however, they are pretty costly. Thus, you could consider adding in your own customised plastic/cardboard-like material and bend it to shape... once again, it tricks the eyes of others (from afar)

4. Loud Exhaust Valve System

"Vrroom Vrroom". As the belief goes, the louder the sound, the fiercer and more powerful your car engine and horsepower is. Thus, in order to create more attention from other fellow drivers, people resort to methods to increase their exhaust volumes. So, people could consider installing a built in microphone gadget and attach it just outside the exhaust valve, so that whenever you step your accelerator, the noises get amplified! Cool isnt it. Now you can drive an ordinary car but yet sound louder than the sports cars available in the market! =)

SO there goes, hope this entry helped u to save up some $$.
